A brand to trust — We are honored that Susan G. Komen for the Cure® ranked number one in a recent Harris Interactive poll as the most valued non-profit brand and the charity people are most likely to donate money to. Additionally, Komen for the Cure ranked second on the 2010 list of the nation’s most trusted charities. Thank you to all who help us daily in the fight to end breast cancer!
Twenty years ago, we had a dream to establish the Tarrant County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and held our very first Race for the Cure on April 17, 1993. Last year, we expanded our service area to include 3 new counties, Parker, Johnson and Hood and changed our name to the Greater Fort Worth Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Thanks to your support, $19 million has been raised for important community projects and critical breast cancer research. As we enter our 20th year, we have much to celebrate and the work of Komen Greater Fort Worth continues. Our dreams of making an important impact on breast cancer are coming true!
Over the course of the next 12 months, we will share with you the impact we have made on our community by showcasing our successes in numbers, counting what we've done, what we are doing and what we will do. An exciting year of celebration and reflection is being planned with events such as our 7th annual Frogs for the Cure game in partnership with TCU, a special "Pink Out" at the 2012 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, a festive anniversary concert with LeAnn Rimes and the Fort Worth Symphony, a very memorable Race for the Cure® and so much more!
We so appreciate your support these past 20 years and look forward to celebrating with you in the year to come. Put on your pink and let's celebrate!
