Race for the Cure Success!
The 2010 Komen Tarrant County Race for the Cure® was held on Saturday, April 24 and hosted 14,071 participants in Sundance Square, downtown Fort Worth. What started out as a dreary, rainy morning turned into a beautiful spring day by the time participants arrived. While fundraising is still open until June 1, early estimates indicate that the event has raised over $1.5 million! This means that Komen Tarrant County will be able to continue to fund local breast health programs, screening and treatment as well as national reserach grant efforts. For more information on how funds are distributed, visit our Grants page on the website.

Fundraising Still Open!
Do you recall the 24/24 Pink Power Push from Race Day? There is still time to go online and ask friends and family to help you win a special prize. The person who raises the most money online by midnight, May 18, will win an Apple iPad®! Congratulations to Jay Ward who won the first iPad by raising the most funds online within 24 hours of the Race! Fundraising for Race for the Cure is open through June 1. With your help and support, participants have raised well over $500,000 - that's amazing! You can log into your Participant Center now and start or continue your effort.

Race for the Cure Fundraising Rewards
Did you raise funds for the Race? Did you raise $250 or more? If so, and your donations are turned in and confirmed by midnight on June 1, you are eligible to select a reward from our Fundraising Reward Program! You will receive, via mail, a login and a code so that you can select your reward from our Fundraising Reward Program site. Check out the site now - if you didn't reach the $250 level, there's still time!
Remember, Registration Fees get us to the Start Line, Fundraising gets us to the Cure!

McDonald's High School Challenge Winners
Congratulations to Bowie High School in Arlington (highest student body participation) and Southwest High School in Fort Worth (biggest impact on breast cancer)! Both schools will receive $1,000 from McDonald's - way to go!

Birdies for CharityThis just in! The Crown Plaza Invitational at Colonial has pledged to donate $100 per birdie and $500 per eagle made at the tournament on Saturday, May 29. We hope those PGA golfers have an exceptional day of golf on Saturday!

In conjunction with the golf tournament, Walk for a Cure sponsored by Texas Oncology will be Saturday, May 29th at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial. Come by and pick up your pedometer, then ask friends, family and co-workers to make pledges for every step you take at the golf tournament.
