Who are you running for? — Join in the fight against breast cancer by running a full or half marathon through Marathon for the Cure™
Rally for the Cure — Golf, tennis, dinner events and so much more...
A brand to trust — We are honored that Susan G. Komen for the Cure® ranked number one in a recent Harris Interactive poll as the most valued non-profit brand and the charity people are most likely to donate money to. Additionally, Komen for the Cure ranked second on the 2010 list of the nation’s most trusted charities. Thank you to all who help us daily in the fight to end breast cancer!
Susan G. Komen for the Cure® has developed Pink Sunday in an effort to partner with local churches to educate congregations on breast health and breast cancer, and to raise awareness of the disease and the importance of early detection. This year, the Komen Greater Fort Worth Affiliate has designated October 23, 2011 as Pink Sunday. Pink Sunday is sponsored by The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. We invite local churches and other faith based organizations in our service area to join us in the fight against breast cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness Month by participating in Pink Sunday.
As a participating church, the women in your congregation will receive an educational packet which discusses risk factors and the critical role of early detection in saving lives from breast cancer. Be sure to encourage your congregation to wear pink to show your support, to honor survivors and celebrate their courage, and to remember those who have lost their battle with breast cancer. Use this Sunday as an opportunity to share with your friends, family members and neighbors the life-saving message of early detection.
There are many other ways you can celebrate Pink Sunday at your church:
The Greater Fort Worth Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure will provide breast health information packets, sponsored by The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and each individual church will be responsible for designating a Pink Sunday Ambassador who will coordinate the event at their church.
