How does a 5K Race make a huge impact on the global movement to end breast cancer forever?  Through the fundraising efforts of every participant.

You don’t need to be a fundraising expert to be successful at it – you just need the desire to stand up to breast cancer and make a difference.  Thanks to the efforts of fundraisers, in 2010, the Komen Greater Fort Worth Affiliate was able to fund $1,300,000 for education, screening and treatment services in our service area. Think about it - if every Race participant raised an average of $100 over the registration fee, the Komen Greater Fort Worth Affiliate would raise an additional $1,500,000! 

Fundraising Rewards Are Back!
Be sure and check out our Fundraising Reward Program, where you can earn some great prizes when you raise funds for the Komen Greater Fort Worth Race for the Cure. If you've never tried it before - don't hesitate - it's easy! Rewards start at the $100 level and get better and better the more you raise. Fundraising is easy with online fundraising tools! When you register for the Race you automatically receive your own fundraising website that you can personalize. Start now by logging in, and encouraging everyone you know to visit your site, see what you are doing in the fight against breast cancer and make a donation on your behalf. Up to 75 percent of net proceeds generated by the Affiliate stay right here in the local community! The remaining income goes to the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure Grants Program to fund research.

If you need to mail a donation from a supporter, please add the name of the participant or team in the memo line of your check and mail to:

Checks can be made payable to Komen Greater Fort Worth or Race for the Cure. If your donor's check is not made out exactly this way, that is not a problem.

Charity Rating
Susan G. Komen for the Cure has received the highest 4-Star Charity Rating (Exceptional) from Charity Navigator (an independent on-line charity evaluator that helps individuals make informed giving decisions) for the 5th year in a row. Only 5% of charities have met this achievement.

If you have not registerd for the Race for the Cure on April 14th, please REGISTER NOW. Once you have registered, you can share your story with friends, family and co-workers, in 3 easy steps:

1. Log in to your Participant Center with your username (Personalization: User Name) and password (Personalization: Password).

2. Go to the Email tab and select one of the sample fundraising emails to get started, and then personalize it with your story.

3. Click on "Contacts" to upload names and email addresses from your address book. Then send the emails…and see what kind of impact you can make!

Remember: the registration fee gets us to the Start Line, fundraising gets us to the Cures!
