Team Awards and Shirt Contest

The 2011 Susan G. Komen Greater Fort Worth Affiliate Race for the Cure® is all about TEAMS! Our Race teams can change history—the history of breast cancer—by helping the Komen Greater Fort Worth Affiliate Race for the Cure reach record-breaking levels of Race participation and fundraising. A Race for the Cure team is a group of 10 or more participants who join together for the Race season to have fun and raise funds to empower the breast cancer movement.

Team Awards

Team awards help drive the friendly competition that makes each year better than the last! Numbers for awards are calculated for registrations and donations received by a specific date. Team members may continue to register and raise funds up until TBD. However, any registrations or funds collected after the cut-off date will not be considered for award calculation purposes.

We recognize the following Team Award Categories:

Sweepstakes Award The team with the largest financial impact (highest total of fundraising dollars plus registration fees) as of NOON April 13, 2011. The Sweepstakes winner will be honored on Race Day.
Largest Teams 15 awards to the top three teams in each of five categories with the highest number of team members registered by NOON on April 13. Teams will be recognized from the stage on Race Day.
Monthly Team Awards A different team incentive each month prior to the Race. January's goal is to have 20 team members by midnight on January 31. Team captains who reach this goal will be entered into a drawing for a $200 Kroger gift card! Close out dates are Jan 31, Feb 28, and Mar 31 
Team T-shirt Contest

A People's Choice award will be presented for the favorite team t-shirt design. Last day to enter is March 26, 2012. See contest instructions and guidelines below.

 

Team T-shirt Contest Guidelines

Entry Rules:

  • Pink shirts are reserved for breast cancer Survivors, so please use other colors
  • Use of the Komen trademarked ribbon or Komen Race for the Cure logo is prohibited. Any other original ribbon is encouraged. Ask about using the official team insignia graphic!
  • Submit t-shirt design by March 26, 2012
  • Email design (front & back) to teams@komengreaterfw.org with the team captain and team names included.

Scoring:

  • Affiliate judges will score your shirt on: 1) Originality, 2) Message, 3) Artwork
  • Affiliate will select the top ten t-shirts to compete for the People's Choice Award
  • Top ten t-shirt Team Captains will be notified on March 30 to bring 2 shirts into the Komen Office
  • Top ten entries will be on display at the Team Captains' Tent on Race Day. Everyone may vote for a People's Choice by making donations for their favorite t-shirt. The winner of the People's Choice will be announced on Race Day during the Survivor Celebration ceremony.
